VI. Research and Dissertation

1. Master candidates are guided by the co-efforts of course study and research practice with the supervisor taking responsibility.

2. Before formally engaged in project research, master candidates must write out topic selection report based on referring to extensive related literature and report it to the relevant experts with hearing their queries and giving appropriate defence. Only when the topic selection report is approved can they be formally engaged in master’s dissertation.

3. Master candidates should attend public academic lectures for no less than five times. They need to take notes down on the uniform record book required by college with the signature of reporter or host. Record books shall be submitted to the person in charge before applying for dissertation review and only when approved can they be granted credit.

4. Master candidates can apply for dissertation review after the dissertation is examined by the supervisor and approved by relevant responsible persons in college. The list of paper reviewers need to be ratified by relevant persons in charge.

5. Academic scholarship shall be awarded in terms of academic achievements and research performances.

6. If master candidates have academic misconducts which are identified as serious violation, they should be disqualified for applying for master’s degree.
