The School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics hasestablishedits own characteristics on the aspects of scientific research and social service. The main research directions include Engineering structure vibration isolation, Vibration energy dissipation and the active control, Micro-scale mechanics and multi-scale correlation, Intelligent materials andstructures, Fluid-solid coupling Dynamics, Engineering analysisand simulation, Key technology of digital construction integrationand its application, Intelligent detection and damage assessment of engineering structures, Groundtreatment technology, Stress wave detection technology, Theory and practice of large-span structures, Numerical analysismethods and the virtual simulation technology in civil engineering, and so on. A group of high-level scientific research achievements has been achieved in the following fields: Building isolation technology,Key technology of rail transit integration, Integral structural damage detection system and Structure analysis and design of arch bridge. Since 2001, our achievements have won5second prize awardsof National Scientific and Technological AdvancementAward, more than 30 provincial technical awards and 7 provincial teaching awards.The annual average number of papers indexed by SCI, EI and ISTPismore than 200, among which more than 60 papers are indexed by SCI. We are also in charge of more than 20 scientificresearch projects of funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Doctoral Fund, Provincial Fund and international cooperation funds. Meanwhile, we provided research services to large projects such as Hu-Rong Expressway and Wuhan Railway.The annual research expenditure exceeds 50 million Yuan.
